Luna - the Shadow Dust (english)

Luna - the Shadow Dust is oldschool point&click adventure competing our attention with more modern games. The story starts with kid finding himself at the root of the strange tower. The light seems to have vanished from the world. During his heroes journey he finds strange companion to aid him to reach the top of the tower.

The game was crowdfunded during the 2016 Kickstarter project. Like with other crowdfunded games, the donators' names are published in ending text and homepage. The game was well received and worth waiting.

The game doesn't have spoken dialog, so it's well accessible by many players. The player can switch between the characters either by clicking or with space-key. Otherwise, the gameplay is puzzle-solving with trial and error, meaning some frustration will be generated. However, the depictions in this animated game are beautiful and interesting, so it does keep the player engaged for a period of time.

Like picturesque painting, the graphics are hand-drawn and animated. This old fashioned style must have been a huge undertaking, and the results look thrilling and good. The developers tell how they wanted to do an animated picturebook, and it does look like a well-animated one.

If you like point&click games at all, a beautiful story with stunning graphics and music that sets the mood, Luna- The Shadow Dust is your game.

For parents, I would say this is one of those games that fit well with kids. Some scenes might be a little scary and cause frustration, but if your children like to do puzzles, the game fits him or her well.
