The game is about making runs and updating the game meanwhile. The runs are narrated and follow up the gauntlet where ship is trying to make to the goal reasonably intact. The ships are made from hexagon modules and player allocates some of the modules to the cargo. During the trip player is tasked to build diffrent kind of gadgets to the ship. Engines, shields guns - all help to defend the ship from the pirates or just space rocks. The updates gathered to the ship deem which and how many gadgets can be built in overall and resources gathered during the run how much points can be spend to the builds. The ship is flying automatically so player is just doing the building stuff.
Oppsition varies from pirates, asteroids and aliens. Other space road users are shot down as well. The gameplay is somewhat random and encounters can come from any direction so there's no 100% sure tactic to play any of the mission. Changing situations managed to keep my interest up although I'm not biggest fan of tower defence-type of games.
Space Run Galaxy is definetly fresh take on 'traditional' tower defence. Some of the missions originate from players goals. There's a system that player gets compensated from the missions with rare equipment that can be used to upgrade the ship. However upgrades are possible only in certain places so player needs to haul upgrade cargo from planet to other. The innovative design of the game comes to light at this point - player can actually hire other players to take cargo from A to B. Because need of upgrades there's sure need of movingcargo and carrying other players cargo generates of feel that run isn't pointless but every cargo is important to someone? For myself I didn't feel Space Run Galaxy too repetitive and there's a sense of progression right from the start.
The main character isn't named (=player) and the pilot android Evve-36 is talkative enough to keep up with Buck Mann and clients. There's several runs that have story and the antagonists are aliens that do cause mischiev in the space roads.
Original Space Run got positive feedback from it's fresh ideas and redefinition of tower defence genre. Space Run Galaxy is a vastly improved version and does indeed take it's time because random elements.

Something for experienced players?

Ethical message?
The main character isn't named (=player) and the pilot android Evve-36 is talkative enough to keep up with Buck Mann and clients. There's several runs that have story and the antagonists are aliens that do cause mischiev in the space roads.
Interesting features?
Original Space Run got positive feedback from it's fresh ideas and redefinition of tower defence genre. Space Run Galaxy is a vastly improved version and does indeed take it's time because random elements.
For families...?
Graphcis of the game are humoristic and high flying scifi. The big monsters might be a bit scare to the smallst of the family but in the end the suggested age rating wouldn't be that high or differ from tower defence games in general.
DLC?
There's no possibility to make micro-transactions from the game but game money can be used to buy and sell services.
Age raiting?
Families can talk about
- What is happening on the screen?
- What the diffrent parts are for?
- Which featrues make game interesting?
